Elizabeth Pomada and Michael Larsen are co-founders of the conference. Pomada and Larsen are authors and partners in Larsen-Pomada Literary Agents, the oldest agency in Northern California.

Barbara Santos, co-creator of the Maui Writers Conference, is marketing director. Literary Agent Laurie McLean manages sponsorships, the writing contest and the silent auction. Richard Santos manages registrations and the website.
