General Donations to the SFWC Non-Profit Activities:
From time to time people ask how they can support the ongoing non-profit work of the San Francisco Writers Conference, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. We are pleased that our new online service makes accepting donations easier than ever before.
If you would like to support our work with a monetary donation, please click here to indicate the number of support dollars you wish to give.
General Scholarship Donations
People also ask how they can help young writers or disadvantaged writers attend the San Francisco Writers Conference. You can be the benefactor of a scholarship for just $1,000. Name the scholarship for yourself, a loved one or as a memorial. Make a difference for a young, disadvantaged or minority writer. Receive recognition from the stage when scholarship sponsors and awardees are recognized at the event. Scholarships are given to students of all ages seeking to write for publication. Please write for rules. (And if you can't afford $1,000, consider contributing any amount to our general scholarship fund. It's 100% tax deductible!)

Ellen Taliaferro, MD, Scholarship Donation
The Ellen Taliaferro, MD, Scholarship Dedicated to the Prevention and Intervention of Domestic Violence and Abuse will be awarded to a writer who is writing as a survivor of domestic violence or an advocate or professional who is working with them. The scholarship will pay for a full registration to the 2010 San Francisco Writers Conference. It will also include a private appointment with a nonfiction editor and agent and a small stipend to partially cover travel and accommodations.
The scholarship was created by Dr. Ellen Taliaferro, Project Director of the Health After Trauma Project, author of Well Writing for Health After Trauma and Abuse, and co-author of The Physician's Guide to Intimate Partner Violence and Respond to Intimate Partner Violence -- 10 Steps You Can Take to Help Your Patients and Your Practice.
